Kinesmetrics Laboratory

Welcome

Welcome to the Kinesmetrics Laboratory in the Department of Kinesiology and Community Health at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. Kinesmetrics is a discipline to develop and apply measurement theory, statistics and mathematical analysis to the field of Kinesiology. The research questions and projects of the lab range from basic to applied and are often multi-disciplinary in nature. As such, the Kinesmetrics Laboratory will frequently collaborate with other laboratories in the Department of Kinesiology and Community Health as well as other departments across the University of Illinois campus.

In addition to supporting faculty led research projects, the Kinesmetrics Laboratory provides essential research opportunities for Kinesiology students in the undergraduate and graduate education programs at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Laboratory experiences will expand a student’s theoretical understanding of the profession of Behavior Kinesiology, develop unique and innovative research skills, and foster intellectual growth through scholarly inquiry.
