Kevin Fritz

After graduating in May, Kevin Fritz heads to St. Louis to begin studies in law at Washington University. He completed his bachelor's degree in community health, with a focus on health planning and administration and a minor in informatics. Kevin was chosen to be this year's Convocation speaker, which he called both "a pleasant surprise" and "an honor."

What is your overall impression of the KCH department and your own studies?

I think the department is one of a kind. We have business people, nurses, epidemiologists, and even exercise physiologists! All these various groups all coming together for the purpose of building a better tomorrow. It has been so great to be a part of this community.

What has been your best/most interesting/most beneficial experience within the department?

Probably my research with Dr. Notaro and the Champaign County Christian Healthcare Center. Not only did I get to work with a Professor on a more personal level, but I was also able to think outside the box. There are no "guidelines" per se, so I really got a chance to explore what I had learned in the class room from a different perspective. It is a really valuable skill to have!

What do you like to do for fun?

Haha sleep! No...I am really into new technology. I like to buy new products and compare competitors. I guess I am a nerd that way. I also like hanging out with friends, watching TV...pretty much the typical stuff.
